History of Undy A.F.C.
Undy Athletic AFC
Dan Jarman - Dan broke into the first team squad during season 2013 and has remained there since, a very pacey young lad who has a great shot , was also captain and a star of our under 19s, his improvement over the last few seasons speaks volumes for his willingness to learn.
Gareth Cullimore - Gareth has played for Caldicot and Goytre Utd but was one of the main reasons behind the teams rise in the last few seasons as he rejoined the club he first played for many years ago. A striker who guarantees you plenty of goals a season and a key figure in the first team.
Gyles Thompson - Gyles is another one club man , a left back/wing back or centre half with a good all round game, mr reliability come match day and a consistent performer and a managers dream.
James Barnes - James rejoined us in November 2013 after a brief spell with Lydney, he can play in midfield or as a striker and always weighs in with his share of goals. Achieved players player and supporters player in promotion season of 2016, a real energy on the pitch.
James Smallcombe - Smalls joined us from Caldicot and has been another player who contributed to our recent rise , a great shot stopper with great distribution from hand or on the floor, Player of the year in 2014 and most appearances in 2015/16 and 2016/17 and last seasons supporters player of the year.
Marcus Power - Marcus has signed for us after a spell away from the game, comfortable in midfield or as a striker he is a proven Welsh league player after spending 10 seasons with Llanwern AFC joining them from Newport Countys academy. He was awarded the Player of the year and Players/Player awards last season.
Paul Clayton - Despite his young age Paul looks an accomplished centre half at any level, a big part of the under 18s and 19s, he never looks out of his depth for such a young lad and will have many seasons ahead of him as a welsh league footballer.
Rhys Aherne - Rhys joined us from Caerleon AFC, where he was their 2012 /13 Player of the year, a young, big and strong Centre half who has good welsh league experience after his spell with Caerleon and originally being introduced to the Welsh league with a spell at Llanwern AFC under Manager LWO, he had a very impressive season last season in Division 1.
Tom Wright - Wrighty is another one of our very successful youth set up and was involved in a number of preseason 2016 friendlies and he has prospered since, a very good technical player with a good engine and loves a tackle, he will be a big part of Undy football club for years to come.
Michael Waters - Bucks is a local lad who came up through the ranks and has broken into the first team squad having previously been a massive part of a successful Reserve team
Alex Jarman – Alex re-joined us in December 2017 after a spell at a Caldicot, he can play in a number of positions and will add to the squad strength
MANAGER: - Dave is a club stalwart who is now in his fourth season as first team manager after previously being in charge of the reserves. Dave was very disappointed last season to narrowly miss out on promotion and is hoping that the team will have a better start to the season to give them the confidence to eventually progress to the second division.
Chris Parry - Chris was a one club man until being snapped up by Hereford at the beginning of 2017, work commitments saw him return to us last season to the delight of everyone, a strong midfielder who was converted to centre half by LWO and he has never looked back a class defender.
Josh Bishop - Josh is a fiery ,pacey striker who has scored lots of goals for our under 18s and at 18 years of age is a great prospect.
Sam Thomas - Quality young player who again has come up through the ranks. Comfortable in either defense or midfield with lots of energy and a great left foot.
Ollie Smith - Another player who has come up through the ranks at Undy. Recently resigned following a short spell with Caldicot. Great midfield technician with a sweet left foot an an eye for a goal
Luke White - Commanding centre half who is comfortable on the ball despite his young age. Luke has come up via the Undy youth system and this season looks to have broken into the first team squad.
Joe Heal - Joe played for Undy youth before moving to Chepstow Town at age 16 where he immediately broke into their Welsh league team. A tenacious midfield player with plenty of energy looking to test himself at a Division 1 club.
