THE NATHANIEL CAR SALES WELSH FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIVISION 1
AFC LLWYDCOED v ABERGAVENNEY TOWN 7/12/2019
Llwydcoed and the Town shared the points in a match that had very few goal scoring opportunities. The hosts will accept the draw their fifth out of eleven games considering the amount of players missing and two second half injuries Jordan Ellis( shoulder) and Bryan Forbes (head injury).
The AFC Llwydcoed starting line up was minus Craig Williams, Ross Daniels, Cian Cable, Brett Davies, Callum Henry, Luke Davies and Cori Mabey plus long term injured Cory Leighton and Elliott Morris. So Manager Mr Matthew Driscoll was still able to call on Bryan Forbes, Andrew Evans, Morgan Andrews, Robert Evans and young prospect Sebastian Hobbs.
The match ko with The Town on the attack with Rhys Tandey, Daniel Jenkins, and Curtis Methven looking to break through the Llwydcoed defenders Scott Griffiths, Andrew Evans, Gabriel Williams and Liam Jones who covered the threat. The hosts then began to attack The Town defence through Liam Jones, Morgan Andrews, Jordan Ellis and Robert Evans. The Town defenders Joe Palmer, Drew Hefferman, Jac Evans and Aaron Norman responded stopping the attack. Llwydcoed gained a bigger percentage of possession and began to find space in The Town defence with Lewis Holder and Luke Spencer building through, the midfield the approach work was excellent but the goal they were seeking would not arrive. The excellent Morgan Andrews and Liam Jones combined but no goal. The first half finished all square,
AFC Llwydcoed Manager Mr Matthew Driscoll was forced a substitution with Scott Griffiths (illness) being replaced by Dylan Jones. The Town defence and midfield were the ones doing the majority of the defending. The movement of the Llwydcoed midfield player Morgan Andrew was the key for the hosts but The Town players kept working for each other covering the danger. In the next period of play Llwydcoed picked up two bad injuries Jordan Ellis (shoulder) after a strong aerial challenge fortunately he was able to continue. Shortly afterwards the Llwydcoed goalkeeper Bryan Forbes picked up a head injury as he dived at the feet of The Town striker Dan Jenkins he was not so fortunate. A twenty minute delay before the emergency services arrived. So with all these players missing more injuries Lewis Holder took over in goals with Sebastian Hobbs dropping into midfield. Llwydcoed still had time to create more attacks a superb cross from Dylan Jones picked out Jordan Ellis whose header was on target but The Town goalkeeper Tom Indge was able to push it over the bar. The Town had one big chance towards the final whistle but he blasted the chance high and wide. The match ended goalless .Considering all the withdrawals the Llwydcoed
players deserve lots of credit for their application and superb attitude.
