Llwydcoed returned to the Cynon Valley with an important victory finally scoring the all important solitary goal in the final minutes, worth waiting for. The movement and quality shown by two seventeen year old players firstly Jay Woodford quality delivery and secondly Liam Price prowess to score the goal.
Dinas's young team began the match looking to gain the initiative through Jordan Martin and Vincent Wattleworth. Llwydcoed responded and began to control possession with Rikki Evans bringing Jay Woodford into good areas. An early chance fell to Rikki Evans and the Dinas goalkeeper Elliott Matthews pulled off a top reflex save. More good play by Llwydcoed with Stuart Evans picking out Ricky Carter putting more pressure on the Dinas defence whose defenders James Bloxham and Ryan Garland showed total commitment to the cause. The Llwydcoed defence had to be alert to the danger of Dinas's Rhys Palmer and Luke Garland who tried to find space in the Llwydcoed defence, they had no joy because of the qualities of Llwydcoed's experienced defenders Gabriel Williams, Luke Davies, Stuart Evans and Scott Walters. Although Llwydcoed had lots of possession they could not score that vital goal when on top and Dinas could thank their goalkeeper Elliott Matthews stopping Ricky Carter from scoring. The first half had been controlled by Llwydcoed the Dinas team had defended for long periods of time with James Marr and James Bloxham working overtime to stop the threat.
The second half started with Dinas still on level terms and the second half was more even in the early part both defences remained intact stopping the attacking moves. Dinas them had a good spell their best stage of the game through Jordan Martin, Luke Garland and Richie Veale, the Llwydcoed midfield were being tested and responded through Luke Garthwaite, Morgan Andrews and Jay Woodford, the possession count swinging back to Llwydcoed and the Dinas defence were being tested again and again. They defended as a unit to stop Llwydcoed from scoring. Chances came and went for the visitors a much needed double substitution arrived with Jonathan Mason and Liam Price coming on. More chances for Llwydcoed's Morgan Andrews firing over from an excellent position, then finally, Llwydcoed found space and the movement and quality of Jay Woodford picked out Liam Price who got in front of the Dinas defender to score with a top touch. A late goal but a deserved one to win the match
