THE NATHANIEL CAR SALES WELSH FOOTBALL LEAGUE DIV 2

CROESYCEILIOG v AFC LLWYDCOED 8/9/2018

Llwydcoed returned home to base with a deserved point against  unbeaten Croesy in an excellent attacking match.  Both teams had a player that scored a brace of goals  Zac Osborne for Croesy and Elliot Morris for Llwydcoed.

AFC Llwydcoed starting eleven saw Robert Evans receiving a deserved call up as did Will Grindal.  The home playing surface was in excellent condition and the hosts players were the first team to attack through Jack Sainsbury trying to put  Zac Osborne into space, at this stage of the game Llwydcoed's defence  were the ones doing the defending.  Croesy were finding too much  in the Llwydcoed shape and that pressure paid off, they won a dubious corner that was only partly cleared by Llwydcoed goalkeeper Andy Hargreaves because of the lack of space as he moved forward to punch clear and Croesy's Ryan Hayward scored. After this difficult opening for Llwydcoed they began to find their rhythm with Jordan Ellis, Ross Daniels and Christopher Bristow trying to gain some possession but Croesy were looking the more settled attacking side with Zac Osborne and Jordan Jones in attacking harmony unsettling the Llwydcoed defenders.  Croesy came desperately close to scoring a second goal after Llwydcoed goalkeeper Andy Hargreaves  was caught in possession but he redeemed himself stopping the ball before it crossed the goal line.  In between this difficult time for the visitors they had created some excellent attacks with Elliot Morris, Will Grindal, Ioan Evans and Robert Evans involved.  As the first half entered the latter stages Llwydcoed began to build some sustained attacks with Jordan Ellis and Morgan Andrews doing brilliantly.  The Croesy defenders were the ones doing the defending with Jack Wellington, Aaron Harris and Jamie Arnold on full alert the elusive Llwydcoed player Ioan Evans made a brilliant run beating four Croesy players to win a free kick that was cleared then Robert Evans just failed to connect with a chance.  More good play by Jordan Ellis saw him find Elliot Morris with a quality pass and the Llwydcoed striker  equalised.

HT 1-1

Llwydcoed's second half opening was turbo charged.  The brilliant Ioan Evans and Christopher Bristow nearly brought another goal the Croesy goalkeeper Jack Harris saving the effort.  More brilliant attacking football by Llwydcoed with Morgan Andrews having a top game, the pressure on the Croesy defence saw Elliot Morris fouled and he stepped up and struck the free kick into the top corner.  The match had been completely turned towards the visitors.  Croesy rallied and punished Llwydcoed's defence for switching off and Croesy's top striker Zac Osborne punished them to equalise.  Llwydcoed introduced substitutes Cian Cable and Michael Davies looking to win the match only for Croesy to receive a gift in scoring a third goal after a moment of hesitancy  by the Llwydcoed goalkeeper Andy Hargreaves and Zac Osborne accepted the gift to score.  So from coasting with a one goal advantage Croesy were the ones with the one goal lead.  So the match entered the final minutes the Llwydcoed players kept believing winning a few corners and from one of these taken by Ioan Evans Jordan Ellis who else headed the equaliser.  Llwydcoed went looking for the winning goal but the points were shared.
