Football fiction fiesta - JUAN VILLORO AND Andrés Neuman

Two writers respected internationally for their knowledge of football will discuss the craft of writing about the beautiful game. Juan Villoro is one of Mexico’s greatest writers: passionate about football, he is best known for his book ‘God is Round’. Andrés Neuman, multiple award-winning author of ‘Traveller of the Century’, writes frequently on football in the Argentine and Spanish press. Juan and Andrés will be talking to Richard Gwyn

Football fiction fiesta - Ian Rush talks to Niall Griffiths

Ian Rush, who, amongst other notable deeds, played in two Champions League finals and scored the winning goal in Wales’ only victory against Germany in Cardiff in 1991, is this year’s ambassador for the 2017 UEFA Champions League final in Cardiff. Niall Griffiths is a Welsh novelist and journalist, whose books include ‘Grits and Kelly & Victor’. He is also a life-long Liverpool fan.

Champions League crafts – Primary school workshop

Utilising the Key Stage Two Champions League education resources, children aged 7-11 will have the opportunity to develop their artistic talents whilst completing a range of creative tasks linked to the Champions League Final! Meet new friends and more importantly, enjoy lots of fun linked to football! The workshops will be delivered by primary school teachers.

Start making movies – Video workshop

You can shoot great video on a smartphone or tablet. Learn how to set up and film good shots, how to film sequences that tell stories, and what you need to think about when you edit your movie. Make sure to bring your phone or tablet to shoot video during the Festival. Send your clips to us for a chance to have them included in the movie of the event.

Give us your best shots – Photography workshop

This mini photography workshop, will be crammed with tips and advice on how to get the best pictures from whatever camera you use; from exposure and composition to post editing using your cameras own software. Don't forget to bring your cameras, phones or tablets. There will be prizes for the best images taken.
